Please see below from Estes regarding service:

Good afternoon All,

  • Estes business continues to increase as the country continues to “open up”.
  • We are currently averaging 54,756 shipments per day at 66,356,757 pounds per day.
  • Equipment (trailers) have become a short supply across the network, as we continue to request fast turnaround from our consignees.  New trailer purchases are being delayed, possibly until 2022.
  • We continue to add drivers and dock workers to our system as quickly as we can hire and train them.
  • With Amazon’s Prime Day on 6-21 &22, along with competition from Target and Walmart, along with the normal end of month shipping, the upcoming 2 weeks are predicted to be much higher volume than normal.
  • On a positive note, our internal COVID numbers have dropped to ~ 50

FedEx Change of Operations

Any request received to assume volume as a result of the FedEx change of operations on 6-11-21 must be approved by Senior Management due to the existing capacity constraints we have been experiencing.  We continue to review these business opportunities to provide service within our capacity.

Update to Overlength Fees: 7-9-21

We are reviewing changing our OL rule in our EXL 105 tariff as follows:

  • Equal to or exceeding 8’ but less than 12’:  $100
  • We will continue with our current practice of not assessing this 8’ until a shipment is 100” or greater through 7-09-21; we will start applying the OL charge at 96” or greater.

EXLA 105 Rules Tariff Updates:

Please see attached Supplements to our EXLA 105 rules tariff, addressing:

  • Supplement 13: updates to Item 289 Remote Points effective 6-21-21
  • Supplement 14: update to Item 530 Fuel Surcharges effective 6-23-21

Terminal Constraints:

The following terminals are experiencing delays, mostly due to constraints on equipment:

  • St Louis, MO
  • Birmingham, AL
  • Sacramento, CA
  • Fort Worth, TX
  • Dallas, TX
  • Chicago, IL
  • Atlanta, GA
  • Nashville, TN

Time Critical Financial Guarantee Temporarily Suspended:

  • Birmingham, AL
  • Fort Worth, TX
  • Sacramento, CA
  • Portland, OR

This is not an embargo of Time Critical services; these shipments will be prioritized over standard LTL to, from and through these facilities so the transit time service will still be far better than standard LTL shipments.  However, the financial Guarantee is being suspended.
